Mathematics World Cup

27th September–22nd October 2021

Students take part in a 45-minute video session that contains mathematics activities with on the spot physical activity. They compete with pre-recorded classes on screen as well as with classes internationally.

All mainstream classes of 7–11-year-olds can take part. If you have students with specific learning needs or physical disabilities, please get in touch and we will let you know how your students can be part of the World Cup.

No, the World Cup is completely free. If you wish to continue to the next round and participate in the Mathematics World Series with your class, your school can purchase a subscription here.

Yes, you can download times table question worksheets at different attainment levels for the children in your class.

It’s a 30-minute pre-recorded video but takes approximately 45 minutes to run through with a class.

A preview of the video session is available once you have registered.

You will simply need to print the worksheets, play the video and monitor behaviour in your classroom. Any other teacher input will be prompted by the presenter in the video.

Yes, this has been run and tested in many small classrooms, and no additional space is required. Please get in touch if you’d like to discuss your specific classroom space.

No, we do not collect personally identifiable information on children in the Mathematics World Cup.

Numbertots

Numbertots is for parents, teachers and pre-schools who want to give their 3–5 year olds a head start in learning with physical and mental wellbeing.

No, during the Numbertots Challenge (16th–27th May) you will be able to access all of the (digital) resources at no cost! Additionally, we always provide some of our Numbertots resources for free as we believe every child deserves great educational opportunities.

Numbertots Challenge resources are physically-active, story-based numeracy sessions with mindfulness, which follow the EYFS. These:

  • Cover numeracy topics in line with the EYFS including number, shape, colour, weight, size, position, distance, capacity, sequences and more.
  • Include video adventures with the Numberbugs as well as daily challenges, puzzles and much more!
  1. One year’s Numbertots Complete access, a physical kit for your setting, and the Numbertots Challenge trophy by participating in the most session videos.
  2. One year’s Numbertots access without a kit and a Numberbug Hoodie, by bringing to life a Numberbug with arts and crafts that gets the most likes or shares.
  3. £100 by sending the most competition invites to parents and other pre-schools or schools.

Each video runs for approximately 15 minutes, but you can pause as often as you like.

Mathematics World Series

The Mathematics World Series is aimed at children aged 7-11, KS2: years 3-6, to compete from their classroom.

Each session runs for roughly 45 minutes, we recommend you leave 10 minutes before the session for set up.

Each session starts with a warm up, where students practise key concepts such as times tables. This is followed by two activities using topic based question cards, and ending with mindfulness. All of our warm ups and activities are led by the Numberfit facilitator over your screen and are physically active and fun.

Six competition sessions run by a Numberfit facilitator over your screen to play whenever you choose. Differentiated mathematics worksheets on a variety of topics that can be used alongside any competition session. A leaderboard to see your teams ranking compared to others from around the world.

You can participate in the Mathematics World Series using a SMARTboard or projector found in most classrooms.

Numberleague LIVE

The Numberleague is aimed at children aged 7-11, KS2: years 3-6, to compete from their classroom.

In a live subscription your class will benefit from the ability to compete live against other classes seen over your SMARTboard or projector. You will also get Answermats and question cards delivered to you as part of an equipment bundle, these save teachers marking time.

Numberprep

We focus on maths and science (biology, chemistry and physics) and have tutors suitable for all age levels (Primary to A-Level and further). We also provide English tuition and may be able to cover other subjects, just let us know what you need.

Our tutors are experienced in teaching maths and science at all levels including: Primary (KS1 & KS2), Secondary (KS3, GCSE and A level) and preparation for university entrance exams.

Our tuition centre is located opposite the train station in Amersham. We regularly work with students from schools across South Buckinghamshire including Chesham, Beaconsfield, the Chalfonts, Gerrards Cross and more.

We also provide online tuition which is suitable for students from any location.

Our private tuition includes online and face-to-face tuition from our centre in Amersham. We offer 1-1 support as well as small group sessions. As exams approach we provide GCSE and A Level revision courses.

We also offer free maths and science help in our drop-in sessions. Students can book a place then come and ask any questions they may have.

We work hard to ensure our students achieve the fullest of their potential. The majority of our students are working towards achieving high grades in their exams and we make certain they have the tools to do this. For our GCSE and A-Level students we split the terms to focus in Autumn on 75% content and 25% exam, in spring 55% content and 45% exam, and in Summer term 30% content and 70% exam prep.

We have a range of tutors including current maths and science A-level students, current university students studying a variety of maths and science-based courses at top Russel Group unis, and graduate tutors including those with master’s and PHD qualifications.

Our tutors are predominantly not qualified teachers, but do all go through our training process and have a wealth of experience in working with students at different levels.
We usually set homework weekly for all our students unless parents ask for this not to be the case. Our tutors will then mark the homework and discuss any issues with the student in the following session.

For our older students, we set weekly past papers in the lead-up to exams to ensure they have perfected their exam technique and can achieve their best grades.
We will send you termly progress reports to let you know what your child has been covering, any areas of improvement we are focusing on and all homework and exam paper marks they have achieved.

We will also contact you immediately if we have any concerns about your child or their work.

Your feedback is incredibly important to us and we will check in with you and your child regularly to ensure you are happy with the quality of tuition provided and the progress being made.

Numbertracks

The Numbertracks subscription combines our educational resources into one package deal including Lesson Laps and Times Table Circuits. Providing a holistic approach to education combining maths, movement and mindfulness in line with the National Curriculum for England for KS1 and KS2 pupils.

Times Table Circuits

Times Table Circuits provide targeted maths help for primary and secondary teachers and parents of 5-14 year olds (KS1, KS2 & KS3). They are ideal for anyone who wants to incorporate learning with physical and mental wellbeing, and would like a tool for being able to teach active, fun times tables lessons.
No, Numberfit believes that ALL children should be able to access resources to help them grasp this key skill, therefore Times Table Circuits are available completely FREE. If you would like to help your learners master times tables with more resources you can upgrade your subscription here.
On the free plan you have access to beginner active learning video sessions and times table worksheets for assessment all covering the 2-12 times tables. Upgrade to the paid plan for access to intermediate and advanced level resources with a faster pace and harder questions including division.
Yes! Times Table Circuits have been tested at home and in the smallest of classrooms. All movement is on the spot so no furniture needs re-arranging. They are an ideal classroom active learning resource.
No, simply a device to display the times tables videos. You can also use a times table mat to unlock bonus times tables games which increase activity levels and engagement, ideal for playing at home or with intervention groups.
Each Times Table Circuit video is approximately 10 minutes long. You may want to spend an additional 5 minutes completing the times table worksheet assessments before watching the video.

Yes, the times tables videos incorporate active learning with exercises throughout that learners can do on the spot. To make sessions even more physically active you can use a times table mat which also comes with additional times table games.
We recommend you practise your times tables regularly and follow the impact training plan for maximum improvement.
The multiplication tables check is a mandatory exam that students in English schools must take in year 4 (8-9 year olds). The aim is to determine whether students can fluently recall their times tables up to 12. It is an on-screen test consisting of 25 times table questions where students get 6 seconds to answer each question.
